GigaParts has partnered with Hytera!

Before reading this. Please note I wrote this quickly because I am pretty excited. So it may be a little scattered. But you get the gist, hopefully. More to come for sure!

Do you have a DMR radio yet? If the answer is no. The question is WHY NOT!?!?!

I have recently gained a interest in DMR and a new truck, so I have been equipment shopping for the new install. Walked into GigaParts today to learn they partnered with Hytera! Hytera is one of the top names in DMR. I was excited to put my hands on one of these radios! Got to crack the box on a Hytera MD-782G. I should note that I didn’t get to power on this radio and only got to handle it for a few mins, but I will go ahead and give my build quality impressions.

This thing is built SOLID. Resembles a very well known commercial manufacture actually. It sports a forward facing speaker, VERY large heat sink across the bottom of the radio and rear. There is a color screen however I haven’t seen it powered on. I also noticed the mic connector is sealed to prevent moisture from getting in. This radio was a 45W UHF mono band radio. Quick research shows that Hytera does offer this in VHF but looking on GigaParts website it’s currently not offered through them. I am sure they can get it. There is a BNC connector and serial style connector on the rear, along with a GPS antenna port which is included in the box.  I can’t wait to get one of these in my truck!

GigaParts also has a range of HT’s and accessories from HYTERA. Go check them out!

So a quick round up.
